DSTSS - size doesn't always matter

81. When trying to be helpful, focus on the little things.

One of the great things about being a living in the moment type of gal, is that you live in the moment.  It means being spontaneous and sometimes just doing something because you see an opportunity. It can mean being random and doing something right now that may make a difference to someone else rather than waiting for all of our so called ducks to be lined up before we start giving back or doing nice things for others. Waiting till we have enough time, or money can often be a roadblock to feeling like it's not possible to contribute when so often the smallest of gestures could make a difference to somebody, even if you don't believe it's much. To someone else, it may be more than you ever realise.
So what things could we do to right now to make a difference? Things that don't have to cost a lot of money but will brighten the lives of others and make us feel as though we are contributing to the betterment of your own life and the lives of those around you. Say hello.....hug someone, take someone for lunch or coffee or offer to go get one for them, send a kind message to someone, offer to do something to help. The list is pretty much endless. For me I believe that the genuine giving of an authentic smile and a "hi, how are you" does wonders.
Note to self: Never underestimate the power of simplicity when it comes to helping others. The sum of all small things can equal one big thing in the overall grand plan of living and giving.

  1. You know when I think of my timeline and things I want to see on there, I come up with nothing. I have this inkling that I am not going to live long.
